AmaMagna

Overview

Heartfelt journeys along the world’s most beautiful rivers.

AmaWaterways offers award-winning river cruises that feel personal, luxurious, and deeply enriching. With beautifully appointed ships, immersive shore excursions, and outstanding cuisine (including wine and beer with meals as standard), every journey is crafted with care — sailing through Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.

Life onboard is elegant yet relaxed, with open seating dining, included daily excursions, and a welcoming crew who know your name and your favourite drink. It’s all about quality, connection, and slowing down to truly savour each moment.

For solo travellers, AmaWaterways offers a wonderfully reassuring experience. The smaller ships and inclusive atmosphere make it easy to feel at home, while special solo offers — including reduced or waived single supplements — open up even more possibilities.

The Ship

AmaMagna is AmaWaterways’ flagship and a true standout in the world of river cruising. Designed exclusively for the Danube, she is almost twice the width of a standard river ship, creating a noticeably more spacious and luxurious onboard experience while still retaining the warmth and intimacy Ama is known for.

This is river cruising elevated — elegant, unhurried, and thoughtfully designed for guests who appreciate comfort, space, and a sense of quiet sophistication.

Itineraries

AmaMagna sails exclusively on the Danube, visiting destinations such as:

  • Budapest

  • Vienna

  • Bratislava

  • Linz

  • Passau

These itineraries blend grand cities with charming riverside towns and are ideal for first-time river cruisers as well as seasoned travellers.

Key Features

  • Generous public areas with excellent flow and plenty of quiet corners

  • Multiple dining venues and lounges spread across the ship

  • Designed to feel open, airy, and relaxed rather than compact

AmaMagna offers a sense of freedom onboard that is rare on river ships.

Staterooms & Suites

  • A high proportion of large suites, many measuring over 350 sq ft

  • Twin balconies (French + outside balcony) in most categories

  • Elegant, contemporary décor with plenty of storage

  • Ideal for longer journeys or travellers who value personal space

This is one of the most comfortable river ships for guests who enjoy spending time in their cabin as well as public areas.

Dining & Signature Spaces

AmaMagna offers a more varied dining experience than most river ships, including:

  • Main Restaurant with regionally inspired menus

  • Chef’s Table speciality dining experience

  • Jimmy’s Wine Bar & Restaurant — relaxed, intimate, and highly popular

  • Stylish lounge spaces with panoramic river views

Food and wine are central to the AmaMagna experience, with a strong focus on quality, presentation, and regional flavours.
